First Care Lodge Ltd is an independent provider of ‘Residential Care Homes’, ’24 Hrs
Supported, Semi-Supported Accommodations’ and ‘Step Down’ Facilities for adults
age between18-65 years with Forensic & enduring Mental Health needs including Mild
to Moderate Learning Disabilities.

ESTABLISHMENT

First Care Lodge Ltd

First Care Lodge Ltd was established in 2004 in the London Borough of Newham and have continue to deliver a high-quality service, supports and care to our Service Users. We opened our ‘second’ 3-bedded Residential Care Home in 2006. Due to continuous success First Care Lodge Ltd expanded to the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and also opened a 3–bedded Residential Care Home and another 4 bedded 24 hrs Supported Accommodation in 2009.

In 2011 we opened another 4 bedded ‘Semi-Supported Accommodation’ including an ‘Annex’ of onebedroom self-contained Studio Flat accommodation in view of stepping down Service Users from Residential Care Home and ‘High Cost Placements’. First Care Lodge Ltd have now expanded to the London Borough of Redbridge and opened a Five bedded Supported Living in April 2015.

Further expansion in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, a Five bedded ‘Supported Living Accommodation was opened in August 2016. The objective may be different for each person. First Care Lodge Ltd may be an experience of a home for some and for others may be a stepping-stone towards further independence. The objectives are:

1. To achieve security and stability.

2. Enable Service Users to be more self- sufficient.

3. To achieve co-operation and sense of community living.

4. It is our objective also to give our Service Users opportunities to develop daily living skills, such as handling money to budgeting skills, shopping, cooking, and good Personal hygiene, tidiness and to gain self-confidence.

What do we offer?

We pride ourselves on delivering our Service Users the holistic approach and personcentred care. The focus of the care is to provide the Service Users with the supports requires to function independently with much emphasis on community integration.

The range of needs, which the home intends to meet.

  • We provide 24 hr care and support tailored down to the individual assessed needs. Including support with:
  •  One-to-one supports and assistance for Service Users.
  • Monitoring of overall well-being of the individual.
  •  Assisting Service Users in daily chores.
  • Enabling Service Users to develop budgeting skills.
  •  Developing care-plans, centred on individual Service User’s needs.
  • Assisting Service Users to socialise within the community setting.
  • Enlisting the help of outside organisation to develop Service User’s interests, hobbies and give advice/practical assistance in areas of concern or difficulties.
  • Enhanced care provision and supports
  •  Allocated key worker
  •  Regular 1:1 session
  •  Assistance with taking prescribed medication and monitoring of concordance
  •  Encouragement with abstaining from Illicit Substance and Alcohol ‘Random’ Drugs/Alcohol Screening
  • Encouragement with self-care
  •  Assistance with housekeeping, laundry etc
  •  Assistance and encouragement with attending appointments, groups activities etc.
  • Promoting of integration and independent living
  • Ongoing liaison with Care Teams
  • Ongoing Risk Assessments and Care Planning
  •  Input from an experienced Manager’s (RMA)
  • Input from Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMHN)
  • Input from experienced Support Workers (NVQ’s)
  •  Registration with local GP and other Services

Arrangements for Service Users to engage in Reviews and Care planning.

After the initial assessment, a Care plan/Support Plan will be formulated together with the Service User and/or their representative. Each First Care Lodge Ltd Service Users will be allocated a key worker from the staff team who will assist and check their progress and Goals. Each Service User has at least two key working sessions per month in which Care plan/Support Plan and other needs concerning the Service User are discussed. Each Service User has regular CPA meetings and Medical review with the input of support staff, Manager, Social Worker, Care Team, Consultant, Service User or their Relatives/Advocates and any other person involved in the care of individual’s, including the GP.

Arrangements made for consultation with Service Users about the operation of the home.

Weekly House Meetings Key-working Sessions Additional Meetings when required Annual Service User questionnaires Comments and Complaints Service Users at First Care Lodge Ltd are expected to participate in day-to-day running of the Home and social activities, as part of their care plan. Enabling Service User’s to learn daily living skills as shown in their objectives.
